Satun is right down in the south of Thailand, 973km from Bangkok, on the border with Malaysia. It is well known as a jumping off point for the Malaysian resort Island of Lankawi. It is also known for the Island of Tarutao, but most of the other beauties of the province remain unexplored by tourists.

Getting There

Buses leave the Bangkok Southern Bus terminal every day.
THAI International has daily flights to Had Yai.
Overnight trains leave from Hua Lumphong station for Had Yai, where a songthaiew service connects to Satun.

Getting around

Songthaews circulate the city and charge a small fee to any point along their route.
