Food and Drink
One thing Phuket Town has in abundance is good restaurants, many of
which are listed in Thailand's food guides. For cheap tasty meals try
the night market on Phuket Road.
The beach resorts have a variety of places to eat serving both Thai
and Western food. All the larger hotels have good restaurants plus the
usual "international buffet".

Beaches
Directly west of Phuket Town is the lively Patong Beach which has
a similar feel to Pattaya. Here you will
find plenty of things to keep you occupied. A little further south is
the gently curving Karon Beach, a popular place for sunbathing.
Kata Beach is at the south-west end of the island just around the headland
from Karon. This is a good place for swimming and snorkeling. At the
south end of Phuket is Rawai Beach. Although the beach itself is not
as good as others on the island, Rawai is probably the best place to
go for scuba diving. There are several boats available to take divers
to the offshore islands.
Nai Harn Beach is located between Kata and Rawai and houses one of the
most lavish resorts on Phuket. During the monsoon season from May to
October swimming in this area can, at times, be dangerous.
North of Patong is the beautiful Kamala Beach, and Surin Beach which
is popular with locals. The more secluded Nai Yang Beach is just west
of the airport. Next Page »
