Ayuthaya has several low priced guest houses, and mid-priced hotels with air conditioned rooms.

Food and Drink

There are plenty of food stalls around Hua Raw and Chao Phrom markets. The main road into Ayuthaya has several restaurants, or you could try one of the floating restaurants on the Pa Sak river.

Shopping

Souvenirs can be bought at several places around the town, but shopping facilities are generally limited.

Sight Seeing

Ayuthaya has two museums and several interesting temples, the largest of which is Wat Phra Si Sanphet. Built in the 14th century the main compound once contained a 16 metre Buddha covered with 250kg of gold, which was melted down by the Burmese conquerors. Several other temples are worth a visit most notably Wat Na Phra Mane and Wat Phra Chao Phanam Choeng.
